Tricuspid valve disease refers to problems with the tricuspid valve, which is located between the right atrium and right ventricle of the heart.

CAUSES:

Rheumatic fever (common in developing countries)

Endocarditis (infection of the valve)

Congenital heart defects

Right heart failure

Trauma or chest injury

Carcinoid syndrome

SYMPTOMS:

Fatigue and weakness

Swelling in legs, ankles, or abdomen (edema, ascites)

Liver enlargement or tenderness

Abdominal discomfort (from liver congestion)

Neck vein distension

Swelling of the face or lower body
